Colleen and Lynda are a mother and daughter team that share the same goals - to preserve the uniqueness of the English Shepherd.
Lynda McCall, a behavioral scientist, began breeding stock dogs in 1975. She a has continually aspired to create a cross that is highly biddable with an acute interest in stock. In English Shepherds she is focusing on the traits of willingness to please, keen interest in stock, gentleness with children, companionship and protector - the all-round perfect dog. Her dogs, notably McCall's Contessa, have contributed to the further advancement of the English Shepherd breed.
In her continued interest to preserve the traits of the dogs originally known as Farm Collies, Lynda recognizes that many of the long time breeders of the English Shepherd have failed to register their dogs. At this time, we refer to these dogs as Farm Collies - dogs without registry papers that look like and exhibit the traits of the English Shepherd. We do breed selected pairs of these dogs - again , in a effort to maintain the behavior and conformation of the ideal Old Farm Shep.
Lynda also breeds and promotes the AKC Pembroke Welsh Corgi as a stock dog. Her interests also includes the AKC "Mini"Beagle. After 24 years of breeding beagles, the full grown height of her dogs is between 10 and 11 inches.
Lynda lives in south central Arkansas with her husband Dr. James P. McCall, a nationally recognized horse specialist, Gabby and Ringo.
Colleen, Lynda's daughter, after growing up with stock dogs has
taken up the pursuit
of breeding English Shepherds. Colleen lives in northwest Arkansas with
Suzie .
